Sartorius Secura

Laboratory Balance for Sartorius Lab Instruments GmbH & Co. KG

With our customer Sartorius we achieved a remarkable paradigm shift regarding the user experience of laboratory balances. The Secura with its color touch screen invites for interaction. It thrives on the modes of interaction that we are used to from operating smartphones. The redesign of this interaction flow, together with a very attractive visual user guidance makes extensive user manuals obsolete - usability tests have underpinned this impressively.
The quality of the graphical user interface is characterized by three main aspects: one large, clear, visually highly tidy structure, the use of color as an interaction-conductive moment and an iconic language, which is very detailed and aesthetically extremely pleasing.

We also want to emphasize the harmonic combination of product and interface design that reveals itself through several aspects. It shows with the form of a lens as the device’s identity as well as in the product's functional features. In the process of levelling the balance: when turning the balance’s adjustable feet, the on-screen opto-electronic leveling functions support perfectly and exact leveling is a cinch.
