Our success is the product.
We put all of our expertise at our client’s
service. As a service provider, we at hi.d.
don’t develop and market any commodity
of our own. Our service can be found in
the success of the products we serve. Since
we like being successful, we bring equal
amounts of motivation and commitment to
every project we perform.
Our work is primarily organized into two
areas:
- Interface design for embedded systems
- Design for software user interfaces
By definition, embedded
systems run on integrated hardware
with a minimum of memory. We at hi.d interpret
this in a broader sense. We see embedded
systems within the overall context of
use: as all systems of interaction that
are attached to certain hardware and software
setups. For example, we regard a machine’s
controls as an embedded system. hi.d.
designs the visual interaction (screen
design, color coding, etc.) in same manner
as the shape and feel of the surface are
designed. In other words: industrial design
for the controls.
Unlike embedded systems, the designs that
hi.d creates for Software User Interfaces
are mainly PC-based products controlled
by standard input and output devices.
The essential focus of our project work
is conceptual design for interaction (ergonomically
designing the logic of use) and front-end
design (the “look and feel”)
for application software and web applications.
